Madame Ganna Walska bought this Montecito estate in the early 1940’s and transformed the grounds into a botanical garden over a period of four decades. Upon her death in 1984, Madame Walska left her estate to the Ganna Walska Lotusland Foundation. In 1993, Lotusland opened to the public and has since scheduled regular tours of the beautiful gardens for visitors.
